Have you ever taken a walk around your town or city and spotted an ugly building or piece of infrastructure that you wish was either not there, or at least not so hideous? Or, worse, maybe you walk past one every day. They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but there are some serious missteps. And with private buildings being public facing, we are all subject to the misery of a bad building. Unfortunately, there are a lot of bad buildings out there, both aesthetically & functionally. Knowing that the process of making a building is like threading a needle with several forces at play and often too many cooks in the kitchen, scapegoating the architect would be a mistake. But that doesn't mean we can't make a few suggestions to improve the view. These following are a few unsolicited suggestions:
